If the development proposes a CHP / biomass plant, then consideration of the emissions arising from this plant should also be included. The EPUK & IAQM Planning guidance includes criteria for determining whether detailed assessment is required.

If a CHP / biomass plant is included in the proposals, consideration should also be given to an appropriate location for the stack. Stacks should be suitably elevated to enable appropriate dispersion and exhaust points should not be close to openable windows. Emissions from a stack should be considered at design stage.
