Tom Johnson

Tom is a Landscape Architect at Wynne-Williams Associates (WWA) where he has worked for over 9 years. Since joining WWA and following his studies at Writtle University College, Tom has gone onto to become a Chartered Landscape Architect (CMLI) and more recently progressed to become a Director in May 2022. In that time Tom has been working on a range of schemes in Essex across commercial, play and open space, residential, private and public sectors, with the most significant experience coming in education.

Tom has been part of project teams which have delivered a variety of schemes across England but most importantly within Essex. He is the lead Landscape Architect for the new Beaulieu Primary School which is part of the wider suburban development of Beaulieu on the outskirts of Chelmsford. He was also part of the project team which delivered The Beaulieu Park School, which is an all-through, fully inclusive school which opened in 2019.

Tom is also the Landscape Architect working on the delivery of two new housing schemes in Essex which are yet to enter construction, with Tom having made a number of positive changes to the design following feedback received at the Design Review Panel.

In addition to Tom’s role as Landscape Architect on projects he is responsible for managing business operations at WWA, whilst also managing a growing team of talented landscape architects who, through their commitment, seek to add value to the people and environments we work with. Having attended multiple Design / Quality Review Panel’s as a design consultant Tom understands the benefits that the process could bring to projects encouraging better landscapes and environments for all, with a strong focus on biodiversity enhancements, green infrastructure, and active design.
