Hamish Jackson

Hamish is a Senior Ecological Consultant at Place Services and has worked as a professional ecologist since 2018 in the public sector. He specialises in advising local authorities and developers on how to meet statutory and non-statutory requirements for biodiversity, ensuring that plans and projects apply the mitigation hierarchy and conserve and enhance the natural environment.
He leads Place Services on advising on Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG), with a focus on helping local authorities across England to be prepared for this new statutory requirement, via training and support. He also advises on BNG at a national level at a local government perspective, via his involvement with the Association of Local Government Ecologists (ALGE).
He is also experienced in delivering Ecological Impact Assessment (EIA) and Habitats Regulations Assessment (HRA) for plans and projects, as well as protected species and habitat implementation and management advice.
