Dominic is an architect and a Partner with JTP, an award-winning international placemaking practice of architects and masterplanners with extensive experience of delivering successful projects for both private and public sectors throughout the UK, Europe, China, Russia and the Middle East.
JTP was named Building Awards’ Architectural Practice of the Year in 2017, and BD’s Masterplanning and Public Realm Architect of the Year in 2016.
Dominic has extensive experience designing residential and mixed-use neighbourhoods for private developers, housing associations and local authorities.
He has led the delivery of numerous high-density mixed-use projects in city centre locations, many of which have been recognised in design and industry awards. He also has experience designing low-density urban extensions and settlements for suburban communities.
Dominic is currently working on a number of projects of varying scale, including Channels in Chelmsford, Essex. Channels is a new settlement of 1,500 homes consisting of several phases, and is identified as a strategic site for Chelmsford to deliver growth and prosperity for the region. Located four miles to the north of Chelmsford town centre on the grounds of a 27-hole golf course, the site offered the opportunity to create a unique new neighbourhood set within the beautiful landscape of Essex countryside.
JTP has worked with multiple clients, including Ptarmigan and Home Group, on the outline planning application and subsequent detailed phases of Channels, as well as producing a Design Code and working drawings for two of the phases. A phased masterplan was developed that draws on the significant landscape features to define a key green network of pedestrian and cycle routes, and a linear park through the heart of the settlement provides links to the surroundings and brings the landscape into everyday life for the new residents.
