Clive Burbridge is a transport planner of over 30 years’ experience. Although he works mainly nationally, he has an in-depth knowledge of Essex, which has been his home for circa 50 years. Clive has helped achieve numerous planning permissions within the Essex area (including the Unitary Authorities of Thurrock and Southend).
He has consistently provided transport advice across all land uses and scale of development, from a nursery school to new mixed-use towns of 40,000 population. He has a particular expertise, and a personal interest in cycling and the needs of cyclists; whether for commuting, access to school or leisure. He has helped prepared development plans that deliver well-connected and high-quality cycle networks.
Following higher education (BSc in Environmental Planning and MSc in Transport Planning and Management), he achieved a series of professional memberships/qualifications including: -

Following 5 years at Kent County Council and 14 years with Waterman Boreham (in their Brentwood office), he has helped grow Iceni Projects, including the setting up of the transport team in 2010, which are now 15 personnel strong. Iceni Projects in this time have grown from 8 to in excess of 120 staff with regional offices. The team has worked closely with numerous private and public clients, delivering sustainable developments, together with TfL on the electric charging programme. Clive personally provides regular expert witness evidence at inquiries on transportation matters.
A flavour of Clive’s projects has included: -
Imperial Wharf, a mixed-use development on the Thames in London; the re-development of Hertford Town Centre; the Greystar high density mixed-use masterplan in Greenford; the promotion of 17,000 homes at West Tey; the expansion of Norwich Airport; and Ocado distribution Centres.
