Ryan Mills


Ryan is a Chartered Landscape Architect and Green Infrastructure Specialist with over 12 years of experience. Prior to establishing his own practice, Ryan worked as Principal Landscape Consultant at Essex County Council, as well as Associate Director and Green Infrastructure lead at AECOM.  In this time, he trained as a Building with Nature Approved Assessor and Green Flag Judge and has provided training to LPA and Developers on these matters.

Ryan is an expert in landscape and green infrastructure planning and has supported the delivery of many developments including major residential schemes, renewable energy proposals and infrastructure projects such as the M25 Junction 28 improvements for London Borough of Havering. He has extensive experience in reviewing and writing landscape and visual impact assessments and has acted as expert witness for planning inquiries on many occasions.

Ryan has a particular interest in green infrastructure planning and climate change adaptation and has built-up knowledge of the Natural England’s new GI Framework (GIF) and associated standards to support the development of resilient development through robust green infrastructure strategies and designs.
