The Essex Planning Officers Association (EPOA) Planning Skills training programme provides regular webinars and engagement sessions throughout the calendar year, on specialist topics within the field of planning. The topics have been selected on the basis of a public survey, where the results identified the in-demand topics to be covered within the Planning Skills programme.

Sessions are to be delivered by key industry leading experts in their respective fields, to provide a clear overview on the principles of each topic, and the best practice real-life examples that can be used as relevant case studies moving forward.

This programme will continue to be updated to be relevant to its core user base of local authority officers who are involved in the specialist topic areas on a daily basis. It is our ambition that, through the Planning Skills training programme, officers will be provided with a safe place to discuss and learn about material considerations, planning policy, design, the natural and historic environments, amongst other popular topics.

These sessions are available to EPOA members, free-of-charge as part of their membership.
